Moira Fraser-Hook

Moira studied the recorder with Ashley Soloman at Middlesex University. Having developed an interest in a music therapy she then worked with children and adults with special educational needs. She also taught music in a local secondary school and was a member of the Hersom Consort. Since moving to Chepstow in 2003 she has continued to give recorder and piano lessons, a majority of her pupils being retired adults. She also performs in many concerts. Moira is the founder tutor for the popular Chepstow U3A Recorder Group.

About the course

This course is designed for players who can play all sizes of recorder and are proficient at sight reading. Although we will be playing a mixture of music, the main focus of the course will be baroque music. The objective is to have fun exploring a variety of music in a friendly atmosphere.

The timetable is flexible and will vary according to the needs and wishes of those attending, although there are usually 4 one and a half hour sessions each full day. The early part of each afternoon is free for relaxation, exploring Lyme Regis or informal recorder playing.

The course starts with afternoon tea at 4.00pm on the Friday and finishes with lunch on the Monday.  Off road car parking is available from Friday morning if you want to arrive early and explore Lyme.
