Anna Stegmann

Anna Stegmann is a passionate performer of early and contemporary recorder music and is an active member in Ensembles such as Ensemble Odyssee, The Royal Wind Music and trio KAZE, with which she extensively tours Europe and North America. With these Ensembles and as a soloist she has recorded CDs with Pan Classics, Lindoro and Mieroprint.

Alongside her activities as an active performer, she regularly is invited to give workshops and masterclasses, and to join competition juries. In September 2014 she joined the staff of the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she gives regular lessons and classes in renaissance consort and contemporary repertoire and techniques.

She has won prizes in competitions including the International Van Wassenaer Concours, 11th Competition for Contemporary Chamber Music in Cracow, the Montreal Recorder Competition, the LINKPRIJS and the GWK–Young Artist Award. In 2014 she was a finalist of the prestigious Victor Elmaleh Competition of the Concert Artist Guild in New York, USA. She was granted scholarships by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben in 2008 and 2009 to support her studies in Amsterdam and received a scholarship from the Dutch Instruemntesfonds of the Prins Bernard Cultuurfonds in 2012.

About the course

This course is designed for players at and above Diploma level.  Players are expected to be very good sight readers and to be willing and able to play all sizes of recorder down to great bass or contra.  Each day there will be sessions where everyone plays together and also one to a part sessions in smaller groups.  The objective is to have fun exploring a variety of music in a friendly atmosphere.

The course will start at 11.00am on Wednesday 30th January and will run until lunchtime on Sunday 3rd February.  The early part of most afternoons is free for relaxation, exploring Lyme Regis or informal recorder playing.

Prices are as follows:

Single occupancy    £525

2 players, sharing    £420 each

Couple sharing, one playing    £685
