Tom Beets and Joris Van Goethem

Tom Beets and Joris Van Goethem

Tom and Joris are well known as members of the world renowned Flanders Recorder Quartet. They are both also passionate viol players and Joris plays harpsichord, so we are very pleased to have them tutor our course focussing on trio/quatro sonatas.

On the course, we are aiming to have 6 recorder players, 2 viol players and 2 keyboard players, as well as Tom and Joris playing continuo. This gives us the opportunity for a wide range of different settings - anything from 3 trio sonata groups to playing all together in the evening.

About the course

This course is for advanced recorder, keyboard or continuo players who would like to spend three to four days enjoying sonatas. With the luxury of two tutors between 10 players, a spinnet and two of the new Roland C30 electronic harpsichords, the timetable can be very flexible and will vary according to the needs and wishes of those attending.

The course will start at 11.00am on Friday 22nd and finish at 11.30am on Monday 25th March.

The early part of each afternoon is free for relaxation, exploring Lyme Regis or informal playing.  Bed and breakfast is available for £20 per person on the night of the Thursday for anyone who wants to arrive early.

Prices are as follows:

Single occupancy    £505

2 players, sharing    £415 each
